We have a fantastic business opportunity for a Financial Controller to join our team in Team Valley. Working directly with our Finance Director you’ll have the opportunity to take ownership and scope this exciting part of our business.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our successful finance team at Bell Truck and Van – Mercedes Benz. This position supports the Finance Director in the delivery of high quality Finance and Sales Administration departments. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, helping to provide a solid foundation for understanding the financial performance of the business and ensure that it is completed in an efficient, timely and compliant manner. You will support the Finance Director in other key areas and deputise in their absence. You will be a strong team player and a self-starter. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills with the ability to operate in a ‘business partnering’ manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide insightful management accounts analysis, financial KPI’s and other management information in a timely and efficient manner.
- Full reconciliation of all balance sheet and control accounts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
- Overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of accounting policies, processes and financial transactions.
- Providing leadership and support to finance team members.
- Invoice processing and authorisation in accordance with company payment policies.
- Working capital management including minimising debts and avoiding late supplier payments in accordance with approved company policies.
- Cash management and forecasting.
- Enhancing, improving and developing finance processes, policies and systems to optimise results.
- Establishing and maintaining financial controls and policies for the company.
- Pro-actively supporting the FD in all areas of the finance function as required.
- Understanding and adhering to financial regulations and legislation.
Essential Criteria
- Qualified Accountant; CIMA / ACCA or ACA
- Significant experience in a finance role with similar duties and responsibilities
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent customer service skills and confident dealing with a range of stakeholders
- IT proficient, strong excel knowledge is a given
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines
Desirable
- Experience of managing a finance team
