Group Truck Sales Manager (Longbenton/Team Valley & Billingham)


An exciting opportunity has become available, we are now recruiting for a Group Truck Sales Manager to join our busy and vibrant team at Longbenton/Team Valley & Billingham. You will manage your team to ensure they are independently prospecting clients, managing sales calls and targets and are up to date.

You will monitor achievement of sales targets, develop, motivate and performance manage team members to ensure targets are met and results presented at meetings. You will oversee the successful operation of the Truck Sales Department ensuring that the department achieves volume and profit objectives and KPIs as set by the Company and MBUK. You will work towards and assist the Directors in achievement of the Company Mission Statement goals, to help with the smooth and efficient running of the department.

Key duties:

To be first point of contact for Truck Sales Executives, to escalate to Truck Sales Director if further help is required as well as holding regular one-to-one meetings with each sales executive to go through current leads and opportunities. You will attend customer meetings with sales executives and second face as and when required and monitor stock levels and stock values in line with the Truck Sales Directors recommendation.

You will be expected to ensure that all expenses and purchases are signed off in line with Company procedures. Visit customers when appropriate and develop customer relationships and maintain customer base – ensure sales staff do the same. You must adhere to BTS complaint procedures and ensure that all customer queries and problems are dealt with quickly, also take prompt action to stop complaints/queries re-occurring wherever possible.

To ensure that there is sufficient cover for the department at all times in order to provide a quality service to our customers and that all staff are appropriately trained to the required standard by means of e.g. carrying out the company. You will also ensure appraisal scheme, mentoring and coaching, discussing appropriate development and training plans, and ensure they achieve their PDPs. Also, you will attend marketing/promotional events as and when required and prospect for new business within areas of influence on a weekly basis and update records/database.

More key duties include completing factually weekly prospects and return, maintain regular contact with existing customers building good customer relationships, and ensure that all relevant information is added to company database. Process and monitor orders and liaise regularly with sales admin, to ensure that deadlines are met, keeping customer updated with progress of order and any delays. To have a comprehensive up to date knowledge of the products on sale, together with details of competitor vehicles and explain financing and leasing opportunities and insurances and conclude / arrange relevant contracts. You must also ensure that stock vehicles and demonstrators are presented to highest possible standards.
