Daimler Truck UK is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Skidmore as its new Managing Director & CEO, effective 1 August 2026. Richard succeeds Heiko Selzam and will lead the business into its next chapter of growth, customer focus and innovation.
Richard brings extensive experience across the automotive industry, with a background spanning marketing, IT, sales, digital services and customer service. Since joining Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK in 2017, he has held a variety of leadership roles that have helped shape the business and strengthen its position in the market.
Prior to his current position, Richard served as Head of Customer Service Delivery at Mercedes-Benz Trucks UK during the company's transition to Daimler Truck UK. In this role, he and his team established strong foundations for customer service improvement and consistency across the market. Through effective strategic execution across a diverse Dealer network, they delivered significant KPI growth and enhanced the customer experience.
Since 2023, Richard has served as Director, Customer Service & Parts, leading the aftersales truck business for Mercedes-Benz Trucks and FUSO Trucks across Great Britain and Northern Ireland. In this role, he has successfully developed the aftersales strategy while further strengthening Daimler Truck UK’s reputation as a trusted partner to Dealers, authorised repairers and customers.
Widely respected for his authentic and collaborative leadership style, Richard is known for leading with pride, clarity and integrity. He is passionate about fostering a culture built on respect, inclusivity, achievement, customer satisfaction and loyalty.
