We are currently looking to recruit qualified and experienced HGV and LCV Technicians to join our professional workshop team at our Aberdeen site.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking and expanding business where you'll play a key role in delivering exceptional service and maintaining the highest standards of workmanship. Working within a busy service department, you'll be part of an ambitious team dedicated to ensuring vehicles are maintained and repaired efficiently, safely, and to manufacturer standards.
The ideal candidate will have previous experience within a franchised dealership environment, relevant technical qualifications, and proven commercial vehicle experience. You'll be proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering outstanding results while working effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs across the Mercedes-Benz and FUSO product range
- Service vehicles in accordance with manufacturer schedules and guidelines
- Diagnose and repair faults using Star Diagnostics and manufacturer workshop information systems
- Install and fit accessories as required
- Carry out final inspections and functional tests to ensure all work meets required standards
- Attend vehicle breakdowns and complete roadside repairs when required
- Identify warranty-related repairs and ensure parts are correctly labelled and processed
- Obtain parts from the Parts Department, ensuring all documentation is completed accurately
- Support and mentor apprentices and trainee technicians
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping, ensuring workshop equipment, tools, and facilities are clean, safe, and well-maintained
Skills & Experience
- Relevant HGV and/or LCV technician qualifications
- Previous commercial vehicle workshop experience
- Experience within a franchised dealership environment is desirable
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
